Essentials
Our layout principle for brochure covers provides a lot of creative freedom. Grid templates and typical typographic hierarchies help you to structure the content on inside pages. Fact sheets follow a fixed layout structure, as you’ll see below.
Examples
Brochures
Brochures can be used to communicate general information about products and services, boost our brand image by explaining specific activities or initiatives, and more. The guidelines are flexible enough to accommodate a wide variety of content types.
Cover
Your goal is to get people to pick up and read your brochure, so design a cover that is striking and attracts attention. Follow our layout principle and use the Gradient Module. Don’t try to provide too much information – the inside pages will offer plenty of room for that.
Backcover
Design simple back covers that draw attention to the address box.
Inside pages
There are many ways to design inside pages of brochures. Use the relevant base unit (see the Measurements Design Guide) to determine spacing and placement of elements. The downloadable grid templates allow you to apply a grid system and align page elements based on sequenced columns and rows.
Fact sheets
Our fact sheets are clearly organized and use the front and back of the page. The front consists of a header, content area, and footer. The back provides more space for content.
Construction: Step-by-step
Step 1: Formats
Find downloadable templates for all standard brochure and fact sheet formats. Apply our layout principle to all other formats.

Step 2: Layout
Always use the Gradient Module for all brochure titles and fact sheet headers, combined with images or illustrations. Use it on inside pages as well to highlight specific pages, sections or texts.

Step 3: Typography
Apply the defined typographic hierarchies, such as main headline, secondary headline, copy text, etc.

Step 4: Text boxes
Place text boxes within the grid. We recommend setting backgrounds in light grey.
